ERLANGER, KY – Local confectionery company Perfetti Van Melle is pleased to announce that the company’s Marketing Department has been recognized as one of the 2017 Ad Age Best Places to Work. Ad Age partnered with Best Companies Group to identify companies, or departments within companies, that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for their employees.
In announcing the 50 companies to make this year’s Best Places to Work, Ad Age Editor Brian Braiker stated, “Be prepared to get jealous. If you’re not employed at one of our Best Places to Work, odds are you’ll attempt to change that after reading this list. From paternity leave and lavish birthday gifts to educational stipends, flex time, team-building trips and more, these companies are innovating on employee perks, benefits, good vibes and inspiring products. Too bad we don’t offer tips on sneaking job interviews on the side.”
The Ad Age Best Places to Work program identifies, recognizes and honors the best employers in the Advertising and Marketing industries, benefiting the industry’s economy, workforce and businesses. The list consists of only 50 companies. Perfetti Van Melle is #13 on the AdAge list.
To participate in the program, companies were required to meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a publicly or privately held business.
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business.
- Have a minimum of 15 full-time/part-time permanent employees working in the United States.
- Must be in business a minimum of one year.
- Must be an ad agency, ad-tech firm, media company, or the marketing division of a brand.

This year’s program had more interest than ever before, as companies from across the United States entered the two-part process seeking to be among Ad Age’s Best Places to Work. The process consisted of two parts. The first part was an evaluation of each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey, which measured the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final ranking.
