May 2024 – ERLANGER, KY – Perfetti Van Melle USA, Inc. answers the growing sour candy trend by taking a fun new spin on their classic bars and introducing Airheads Sour Bars in 2024. The Sour Bars will be on display at the Perfetti Van Melle booth at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in May 2024. The product will debut to consumers at retailers nationwide this fall.
The three new unique combinations of Airheads Bars flavors are Sour Blue Blast, Sour Lemon Berry Squeeze, and Sour Watermelon Punch. Consumers loved the bars upon tasting, citing the perfect balance of sweet and sour and the long-lasting tart sour flavor. Pictured above is the 5-Bar Check stand pack of Airheads Sour Bars*.
All three flavors are available in both full-size bars and mini bars in a wide range of pack types spanning all retail channels and shelf sets.
“Airheads bars have been a consumer favorite since 1986 and fans, as well as candy consumers overall, are clearly craving new flavors and especially sour flavors. Suggested retail price varies across the 10 pack types from Check Lane to Candy Aisle to larger boxes/minis in bulk, ranging from $.35 Changemaker full-size bars for Check Lane to $3.99 for the 12 oz. laydown bag of mini bars for the Candy Aisle.
